Health coverage rules change, and we get things wrong sometimes. Both belong in public.
This page logs two kinds of change: corrections, where something we published was inaccurate, and substantive updates, where a rule or a threshold moved and we rewrote the page. Routine copy edits are not logged.
If you find an error, write to editor@nycmednews.com with the page and what’s wrong. We aim to respond within two business days and to fix confirmed errors the same day.
Standing commitments
Every figure carries the date we checked it. If a number on a page is older than the last program update, treat the date as the warning it is meant to be.
Seasonal pages are re-verified, not re-dated. Open enrollment and Medicare pages are checked against the source before each season. We do not move a date without changing content — an unchanged page with a fresh date is a lie about freshness.
We do not quietly delete. If an article is retracted, the page stays and says why.
Thresholds are computed, not typed. Income limits across the site are generated from a single set of figures. When the federal poverty guidelines update each January, one change propagates to every table and both calculators at once — which removes the most common source of stale numbers on sites like this.

August 12 — site launched. Initial publication covering coverage programs, costs and billing, patient rights, neighborhood guides and a glossary, in English and Spanish. All thresholds verified against the 2026 HHS poverty guidelines and NY State of Health as of this date.
Nothing to correct yet. Entries will appear here as they happen.
What we will log here
- A number that was wrong, and what it should have been
- A program rule that changed, and which pages we rewrote
- A practice or clinic detail we published incorrectly
- A link that pointed somewhere it shouldn’t have
- Any case where we removed something and why
What we won’t do
We won’t backdate. A correction published in November appears under November, even if the error was made in August — the point of a log is the record, not the appearance of never having been wrong.
